Samantha grew up in Germany and studied at University College Roosevelt in the Netherlands, where she majored in Theatre and Media Studies and Literary Studies. After a few semesters in the USA and the UK, she is simply trying to get credits for watching films and playing video games and writing about them, and does so successfully in her MA (Research) Visual Arts, Media and Architecture in Amsterdam. Because she has the attention span of a squirrel, her interests vary, but she mainly focuses on villains and evil, more generally storytelling in any kind of media with a focus on adaptations and transmedia storytelling. At this very moment, she is specifically interested in villains’ medium-specific capabilities, primarily in video games. When she still has enough brains left to think after all that, she uses this blog as an outlet for a less academic, but still thorough view on media, through which she is eager to share her passion with the world. She ‘collects’ plush animals from video games, and therefore is currently cuddling with a Headcrab, a Companion Cube and occasionally a Murloc at night. Above all, she is simply a nerd, a role-player, a reader, a writer, a listener, a gamer, an artist, and a crazy cat lady.
